Table Grapes
Grapevine belongs to the Vitaceae family, comprising nineteen genera among which we can highlight the genus Vitis. Vitis is native to warm or temperate zones of the Northern Hemisphere (America, Europe and Asia), where most common varieties are grown.
Vitis vinifera table grapes can be in the form of either seeded or non-seeded varietals and range widely in terms of color, size, sweetness and adaptability to local growing conditions.
Climate: Grapevine is a plant of a temperate climate, this situation allows them to go through a period of vegetative activity and another one of winter rest. The temperature from which activity starts, is at an average value of 10 °C. The temperature range 20-25 °C is optimal for growth processes, withering and maturation. Above 42 °C, drying out and burns of leaves and clusters may occur.
Soil: It has wide adaptability to most of land for agricultural use. There are three growth-limiting factors: salinity, limestone excess and high levels of clay.
